Common Chemicals in Apparel

Some chemicals commonly found in clothing and accessories that may trigger Proposition 65 warnings include:

Does This Mean the Products Are Unsafe?

Not necessarily. Proposition 65 warnings indicate that a product may expose you to one or more listed chemicals, but the presence of a warning does not mean the product is unsafe or violates any product safety standards.

Many everyday products contain trace amounts of these chemicals at levels that are considered safe by federal and international standards. Proposition 65 has very low threshold levels, which means warnings are required even when exposure levels are extremely low and unlikely to cause harm.
